Hi! It’s kind of a funny story . . .
For someone who likes giving meaning into everything, from the amount of lines added to a hand drawing, to the little star that must be placed just above the eye of the cherub design…my name has no meaning! “Collecturcoins” was a saying I would jokingly chirp to my friends, to encourage them to take the risk or get through the task. An example to explain this would be below (I sound like an English teacher):
"Oh…I don’t want to do this assignment tonight!” My friend chant, andwould agonizingly shut her computer screen and cradle her cheap wine.
“C’mon, it’s just one more assignment…collect your coins!” I would say, and weasel her out from the bottle.
So, the meaning in the above conversation really means “get that degree” or “get that A.” Again, the phrase is used for encouragement.
I made tiktok just before the quarantine trend hit all of us at home. I used it as an escape to laugh and pretend I wasn’t in the middle of nowhere in upstate NY during my college years.
A little about me—because after all this is a bio tab…
My name is Abigail Chai-Onn, but everyone usually calls me “Abby” (or worse). I graduated Siena College in May 2021, with a BA in English and a minor in Writing and Communications. As you can see, I’m making the most out of my degree!! I actually am an avid golfer, and even played for my college. But, all you care about is the drawings…I get it!
I made one silly tiktok video turning “3 random words into drawings,” and just like the forever changing algorithm…my video went viral. All of a sudden, I’m deemed a “tattoo artist” on the app—I’ve never even stepped foot into a tattoo parlor. However, I guess there’s some prophecy that shifted my life to experience this lifestyle. So, now I’m doodling and drawing to songs, poems, and just about anything my eyes and hands can latch onto, and find the smallest drop of meaning to smear everywhere on the page.

Since my name is “collect ur coins” I figured the friends I make on the app are called “piggy banks.” It just seems fitting! The main reason I love doing this, even if it’s not forever, is because I get to connect on an emotional level with strangers. By the time I finish a custom commission, I feel like I’ve gained a friend! Doing designs daily makes me realize people are so vulnerable, and we’re all just trying to find meaning in something. Tattoos are like the illustration on our human bodies of literature. Continue to find the meaning, even if it seems meaningless!
